{"id":9809,"date":"2021-07-27T19:56:53","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T19:56:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci028931e6a0002560"},"modified":"2021-07-27T19:56:53","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T19:56:53","slug":"man-killed-after-head-on-crash-with-light-rail-train","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2021\/07\/27\/man-killed-after-head-on-crash-with-light-rail-train\/","title":{"rendered":"MAN KILLED AFTER HEAD ON CRASH WITH LIGHT RAIL TRAIN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fatal collision involving a Charlotte Area Transit System Light Rail train occurred on July 26, 2021 at 9:50 p.m. on East Hebron Street Charlotte, NC.&nbsp;Baltazar Tiquiram Us, 27, died as a result of the crash.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/train-img_7419.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>The LYNX Blue Line train was passing East Hebron Street when the driver of a Toyota Tundra truck identified as&nbsp;Baltazar&nbsp;drove around the crossing arms and into the path of the Light Rail train, causing the head on collision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The train operator sounded the horn while it was approaching the tracks crossing; the crossing arms\u2019 warning lights were operational and flashing. Police say that impairment is suspected for the driver of the truck, and toxicology results are pending.<\/p>\n<p>The truck and LYNX Blue Line train were damaged as a result of the collision.
