Officer Herrera was the school resource officer at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, NC.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTg0MzUyMTE3MDEwNDc0MDA5\/145-line.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>Officer Herrera has spent the last 28 years serving the Charlotte community.&nbsp;Officer Herrera leaves behind a&nbsp;wife and two children. He mentored many students at Ardrey Kell High School.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/news\/charlotte-police-officer-dies-after-leaving-work\">Another Charlotte cop died suddenly also,&nbsp;Officer Michael Rorie died after not feeling good. Officer Rorie was also a school resource officer.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A cause of death has not been mentioned yet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A cop assigned to Ardey Kell High has died.
