Omari was a sophomore on the Lenoir-Rhyne football team. He played linebacker.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/athletes-1846039_960_720.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>Omari played high school football at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, NC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hickory police officers responded to apartments in Hickory regarding a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located a black 2015 Chevrolet Camaro with the engine running in the parking lot of the apartment complex.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Officers approached the vehicle and observed an unresponsive 19-year-old black male, later identified as Omari Alexander sitting in the driver\u2019s seat of the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Officers attempted to provide medical aid to the victim until emergency medical service arrived on scene. Upon arrival, paramedics evaluated Omari and pronounced him deceased at the scene. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>There is no suspect information at this time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Lenoir-Rhyne football player was shot to death.
