On November 24, 2021 Quavius Izard, 21, was arrested and charged with Omari&#8217;s murder.&nbsp;Hailee Melanson, 20, is charged with felony accessory after the fact to murder. Omari played football at Lenoir-Rhyne University.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTg1NTM2NjIxNDc3NjM1MTU0\/3-trukkll-blu.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>On November 20, 2021 Hickory police officers responded to apartments in Hickory regarding a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located a black 2015 Chevrolet Camaro with the engine running in the parking lot of the apartment complex. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/news\/college-football-player-murdered-in-dead-of-night-shot-multiple-times\">Officers approached the vehicle and observed an unresponsive 19-year-old black male, later identified as Omari Alexander sitting in the driver\u2019s seat of the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Officers attempted to provide medical aid to the victim until emergency medical service arrived on scene. Upon arrival, paramedics evaluated Omari and pronounced him deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>On November 22, 2021&nbsp;Hailee was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder regarding the shooting death of Omari.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Quavius was found hiding on a property in Collettsville, NC on November 24, 2021. Quavius is charged with first degree murder and is being held without bond in the Catawba County Jail.<\/p>\n<p>Omari was a sophomore on the Lenoir-Rhyne University football team.
