On December 18, 2021 during a busy Christmas shopping season, a man stabbed a 13-year-old girl multiple times and then was shot several times and killed by a police officer in Charlotte, NC. The man broke into his ex-wife’s home during an argument.<\/p>\n
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is conducting the investigation. The shooting was around 7 p.m. on Blairbeth Street. <\/p>\n
The male suspect got into a verbal dispute with his ex-wife at her home. The situation got heated and the suspect forced his way into the home. The woman was able to flee, however her 13-year-old daughter was still inside. <\/p>\n
The suspect held the teenage girl at knife point. 911 was called and officers immediately engaged in attempts to deescalate the situation. <\/p>\n
But then, without warning the suspect stabbed the teen girl multiple times. The officers immediately perceived a lethal threat and one officer fired his\/her service weapon, striking the man. <\/p>\n
Medic arrived and rendered lifesaving efforts. However, the suspect was pronounced deceased on scene. The 13-year-old girl was transported to Atrium Main Hospital with life threatening injuries. <\/p>\n
