The van struck Barry.&nbsp;  <\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/news\/one-killed-on-independence-blvd\">Barry had severe injuries from the crash. The van had extensive front end damage. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.
