The suspect identified as 44-year-old Ridhwaan Abdur Rashid  had already shot his roommate in both legs. <\/p>\n<p> Ridhwaan&#8217;s roommate had called police after Ridhwaan shot him twice inside an apartment  at Prospect Lefferts Gardens.  <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Police arrived on scene and encountered Ridhwaan in the stairwell saying, <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Oh officers, yea I gave you a call.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> Ridhwaan then pulls out a gun and begins firing at several cops, officers fired back but missed. One officer was shot in the leg and a second officer was shot in the chest. Ridhwaan then ran back into the apartment unit, he was never shot. <\/p>\n<p>Both officers were treated at an area hospital. A SWAT team was called in to talk Ridhwaan down. After several hours, cops finally negotiated with Ridhwaan to come out of the apartment. <\/p>\n<p> Ridhwaan exited and was taken to a mental health hospital.
