Yaqway lives in Charlotte. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTg2NzkzMzAwOTkxMTU3OTU5\/3-trukkll-blu.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>On January 18, 2022 at 12:45 AM, officers responded to an assistance request from Cabarrus County EMS on Brookstone Dr. NW in Concord, NC. <\/p>\n<p>EMS was originally called to this address for a medical related incident. As Cabarrus County EMS was leaving the residence, multiple gunshots were heard coming from the residence. <\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, they made contact with Yaqway as he was attempting to leave the scene. Officers detained Yaqway and while checking the residence, Yaqway&#8217;s mother, Katrina Smith was found shot dead in the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>Katrina was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  <\/p>\n<p>  Yaqway was charged with one count of murder and is currently being held in the Cabarrus County jail under no bond.
