The shooting occurred on&nbsp;Salome Church Road Charlotte, NC. The shot deputy is&nbsp;Dijon Whyms. The suspect is 23-year-old&nbsp;Aiden Bryant.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTg3ODM0NzUwODM1MTA2ODY3\/3-trukkll-blu.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>The shooting was at 4:15 p.m., Deputy Dijon was conducting a traffic stop on Salome Church Road. The deputy approached the vehicle, Aiden is accused of firing multiple shots at Deputy Dijon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/news\/sheriff-deputy-shot-on-north-tryon-street\">The deputy was shot 5 times, but was still able to return fire, injuring the suspect. Both Deputy Dijon and Aiden were transported to Atrium Health Main hospital.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Deputy Dijon has been employed with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff\u2019s Office since 2002.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy underwent surgery and is in recovery.
