{"id":8429,"date":"2022-03-18T16:17:16","date_gmt":"2022-03-18T16:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci029c76a530002795"},"modified":"2025-02-26T01:58:51","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T01:58:51","slug":"police-officer-arrested-accused-of-driving-drunk-and-wrecking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2022\/03\/18\/police-officer-arrested-accused-of-driving-drunk-and-wrecking\/","title":{"rendered":"POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF DRIVING DRUNK AND WRECKING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Officers with the<strong> <\/strong>Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department\u2019s Driving While Impaired Task Force arrested Char-Meck Officer Crystal Washington on a DWI charge on March 11, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTg4MTU1NzYwOTg1Nzc4MDY5\/0-tk-project-storm11.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>During the early morning hours of March 11, 2022 Officer Washington was traveling on Robinson Church Road Charlotte, NC when she lost control of her personal vehicle and collided with a sign. <\/p>\n<p>The officer did not sustain any injuries. Responding CMPD officers suspected Officer Washington was impaired and immediately notified a supervisor. <\/p>\n<p>A DWI Task Force Officer responded to investigate. Officer Washington was arrested, charged with DWI and transported to CMPD Headquarters for further investigation. <\/p>\n<p>The CMPD Internal Affairs Division will conduct a separate administrative investigation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Message from Chief of Police Johnny Jennings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>It is always disheartening when I learn that one of our officers has violated the very laws that we are sworn to uphold.
