{"id":8260,"date":"2022-04-18T22:52:36","date_gmt":"2022-04-18T22:52:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci029f09fd80002620"},"modified":"2022-04-18T22:52:36","modified_gmt":"2022-04-18T22:52:36","slug":"cms-superintendent-faces-being-fired-school-board-holding-emergency-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2022\/04\/18\/cms-superintendent-faces-being-fired-school-board-holding-emergency-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"CMS SUPERINTENDENT FACES BEING FIRED, SCHOOL BOARD HOLDING EMERGENCY MEETING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board of Education will vote on Tuesday April 19, 2022 to decide on whether to terminate the contract of Superintendent Earnest Winston in Charlotte, NC.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/geometry-1044090_960_720.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools announced an emergency meeting that will be on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the uptown Charlottte Government Center; the reason being, \u201c<strong>for matters related to Superintendent Contracts and Attendant Personnel Items.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The school board is reportedly unsatisfied with the superintendent&#8217;s leadership. Winston&#8217;s performance review came under fire by the school board last year in 2021. The school board has held several closed session meetings to analyze the superintendent\u2019s performance review.<\/p>\n<p>The school board reportedly gave Winston a list of action items he was expected to complete in order to avoid termination. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Winston has been the CMS superintendent for less than 3 years. The last superintendent Clayton Wilcox was suspended and later resigned. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTg4ODgwOTEyNzk1MDUxNTUy.webp\"><\/figure>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MTg4ODgwOTQwOTgwNzc0NDgw.webp\"><\/figure>\n<p>Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools is in line as one of the largest school systems in North Carolina with over 140,000 students and 19,000 employees. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Charlotte school&#8217;s Superintendent Earnest Winston is on the hot seat, close to job termination.
