Quay was accidentally released from the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte, NC on May 9, 2022. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTg5NzE4OTA0NjY5NDgwNjM2\/0-dayton.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/charlottealertsnews.com\/charlottealerts\/news\/inmate-released-from-charlotte-jail-by-accident-jail-wants-him-back\">Quay was transported to the jail on April 12, 2022 from another jail on a writ hold and immediately appeared in court.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Quay was then served with a warrant from Pasquotank County for possession of weapon by a prisoner and received a $75,000 secured bond. <\/p>\n<p>Quay&#8217;s court information was entered incorrectly without the writ hold added. As a result, jail employees released Quay on May 9th.<\/p>\n<p>Jail officials did not even recognize the mistaken release until days later on May 13th.
