Goodwin is a guard at the jail.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTkxNDk3MDQ5NTg0MTgyNzcw\/jail-untitledhanvv.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>Authorities opened an investigation after receiving a tip alleging that Goodwin was smuggling illegal items into the jail to inmates. <\/p>\n<p>During the investigation, Goodwin allegedly admitted to furnishing tobacco products as well as charging a cellular phone and giving it back to a inmate detained in the jail.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>State law prohibits tobacco products on the premises of jails and it is a Class 1 misdemeanor for a person to give tobacco products to any person in the custody of a jail.
