Officer Tierney is a cop with the the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. <\/p>\n<p>During the traffic stop Officer Tierney asked the vehicle occupants to exit the car. 3 males got out of the car. One of the males ran away on foot, he was identified as 27-year-old Gabriel Charles.  <\/p>\n<p> Officer Tierney gave foot chase, Gabriel  then fires a shot at the officer striking her in the mid section. Officer Tierney immediately falls to the ground in pain. The suspect tried firing more shots, but his gun jammed. <\/p>\n<p>Officer Tierney was able to fire four shots from the ground striking Gabriel. <\/p>\n<p>Additional officers arrived on scene and provided first aid to Officer Tierney. <\/p>\n<p> Gabriel   died at the hospital. The other suspects in the vehicle were released from custody, one was arrested on a DUI charge. <\/p>\n<p> Officer Tierney was taken to the hospital, she is expected to survive. <\/p>\n<p>During the traffic stop Officer Tierney asked the vehicle occupants to exit the car. 3 males got out of the car.
