James is charged with the 1984 homicide of 27-year-old Sarah Mobley Hall and her 10-year-old son, Derrick Mobley that happened on Ventura Way Charlotte, NC.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTk1NzY4MTg4NjcwMDYwMTgw\/1untitkled.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>Sarah and Derrick were both strangled to death and beaten on March 14, 1984 at apartments on Ventura Way.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Sarah and Derrick were found deceased in the apartments. For years, no arrests were made. <\/p>\n<p>But as a result of years of extensive forensic testing and evidence examination, the police Crime Lab and Cold Case Unit identified James as a suspect. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/screenshot-2023-02-09-at-16-40-30-suspect-accused-of-cocaine-trafficking-mother-murdered-in-1991.png\"><\/figure>\n<p> On February 1, 2023 James was arrested at a hotel in York County, South Carolina.
