Shikeither Smith, 35, (Seen Left) was killed by her boyfriend today, her body was found at a home on Newcastle St. at 6:30 am.<\/p>\n
Police have charged Thomas McCray, 34, (Right) with the murder of Shikeither.<\/p>\n
Detectives determined that Shikeither and Thomas had been in a long-term relationship. Police also determined that Thomas has a crack cocaine habit.<\/p>\n
Police located Shikeither shot to death on Newcastle Street in west Charlotte.<\/p>\n
Thomas was an immediate subject of interest and he was located on scene by responding officers. Police are not searching for any additional suspects.<\/p>\n
Thomas was subsequently charged with 1st degree Murder. Thomas was on cocaine and also was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
