On Saturday evening, Aug. 11, 2018 agents working near Fronton, Texas, observed a Chevrolet Suburban traveling alongside the Rio Grande river without its lights on. Mobile units responded and located the Suburban abandoned near a river road.<\/p>\n
Agents searched the immediate area and witnessed several people jump into the Rio Grande river, swimming back to Mexico.<\/p>\n
Inside the abandoned Suburban, agents discovered 137 bundles of marijuana weighing over 1,300 pounds and worth an estimated $1 million. U.S. law enforcement doesn’t have the jurisdiction to make arrest in Mexico; drug cartels know this and often run to Mexico to avoid arrest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
