A JROTC instructor at Independence high school was arrested today on charges that he sexually assaulted two students at the school.<\/p>\n
Brad Gibson, 52, (Seen here) sexually assaulted one female student in 2018 and another in 2010, officials say.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, police received information concerning a sexual assault that occurred at Independence High School. Crimes Against Children Detectives were notified and launched an investigation.<\/p>\n
According to the 15-year-old female victim, the suspect who was later identified as Brad Gibson, sexually assaulted her in early 2018 while she was a student at Independence High School and Gibson was the JROTC Instructor. The victim advised that the assaults occurred at the school.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, detectives identified a second female victim. The second victim (who was 17-years-old at the time of the incident) stated that Gibson sexually assaulted her in 2010 while she was a student at Independence High School.<\/p>\n
This afternoon, Gibson voluntarily came to police headquarters where he was interviewed by Crimes Against Children detectives.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the interview, Gibson was arrested and transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail and charged with various sex crimes.<\/p>\n
