Daniel Swaringen, 24, and Delvacchio Mills, 35, committed a home invasion right before Thanksgiving, which led to a man being pistol whipped and hospitalized. The suspects also stole the victim’s BMW vehicle. There were 3 suspects, but only 2 were charged.<\/p>\n
Daniel and Delvacchio will be eating Thanksgiving dinner in the county jail.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a male victim was assaulted and robbed on Leahurst Court while visiting a friend. When the victim arrived at the house he observed a U-Haul truck in the driveway and when he went inside the residence he encountered three adult male suspects who were in the process of committing a residential burglary at this location. <\/p>\n
The resident of this house was not home when all of this occurred.<\/p>\n
The suspects assaulted the victim, who was hit in the head with a gun. The suspects then stole the victim\u2019s vehicle, a 2011 BMW. Two of the suspects left in the victim\u2019s BMW while the 3rd suspect drove away in the U-Haul truck. The victim was transported by paramedics to a local hospital.<\/p>\n
Officers located the victim\u2019s BMW and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on it as it was traveling on I-485. But the suspects refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit began. The pursuit only lasted a few minutes and ended when the suspects crashed as they exited off of I-485 onto Blair Road. Both of the occupants in the stolen BWM ran from the scene. <\/p>\n
Stolen items belonging to the homeowner were recovered from inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
One of the suspects who fled from the BMW was apprehended by a K-9 Unit. The second suspect was not located. <\/p>\n
The suspect was last believed to be in the rear of Rocky River High School. The description of the suspect is that he is an adult black male. <\/p>\n
Officers also spotted the U-Haul truck used in this crime traveling on West Blvd. Officers followed the vehicle until it ended up on Independence Blvd at which time a traffic stop was conducted. <\/p>\n
The driver of the truck refused to stop and a 2nd vehicle pursuit began. During this pursuit, the suspect vehicle cut through a shopping center parking lot and hit a light pole. Un-phased, the pursuit continued until the suspect pulled into the Circle K located at 4921 E. Independence Blvd and surrendered. <\/p>\n
Daniel and Delvacchio were both arrested and charged in this encounter. The third suspect is still at large.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
