U.S. Customs officers assigned to the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, Texas recently seized over $587,000 in marijuana in two enforcement actions.<\/p>\n
The first seizure occurred on Wednesday, November 28 at the World Trade Bridge when a Customs officer referred a 2011 Freightliner tractor hauling a shipment of wall sources for a secondary examination. A non-intrusive imaging system and canine inspection by officers resulted in the discovery of 24 packages containing 54 pounds of marijuana.<\/p>\n
The last seizure also occurred at the World Trade Bridge on Wednesday, Nov. 28 when a Customs officer referred a 2002 International tractor hauling a shipment of bolts for a secondary examination. The tractor had 120 packages containing 2,885 pounds of marijuana.<\/p>\n
The narcotics combined have an estimated street value of $587,771.<\/p>\n
The narcotics were seized. The cases were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.<\/p>\n
