Miami-Dade police detectives have arrested a YMCA counselor that threatened to release nude photos of a teenage boy unless he had sex with him.<\/p>\n
Joseph Garcia, 18, was arrested and charged with extortion, traveling to meet a minor for sex, promoting sexual performance by a minor and possessing obscene material harmful to a minor.<\/p>\n
Joseph met the boy at a YMCA camp, and later posed online as a 16-year-old girl nicknamed Kiki.<\/p>\n
Not quite the song “Kiki, do you love me?”<\/p>\n
But using Snapchat and text messaging, Joseph convinced the victim to send naked photos, then threatened to send the photos to his mom unless he kept sending more and more explicit images.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs many as I want, as frequent as I want,\u201d Garcia texted the boy, \u201cAnd if you dont text me I’m gonna send.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victim said \u201che would do anything to make the defendant stop making him feel bad,\u201d according to Miami-Dade Detective Jessenia Mu\u00f1oz.<\/p>\n
The response: the victim had to have a threesome with Joseph and the nonexistent girl \u201cKiki.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joseph did not know that the victim had reported the extortion attempt to police, who took over his communications and set up a date to supposedly have sex. Joseph showed up Monday morning at a McDonalds restaurant thinking he was going to meet the boy, but instead was cuffed and charged.<\/p>\n
Joseph confessed to the scheme.<\/p>\n
