{"id":15301,"date":"2019-01-02T19:54:09","date_gmt":"2019-01-02T19:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02819f39f00f2458"},"modified":"2025-02-26T07:41:26","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T07:41:26","slug":"teenager-killed-after-being-hit-by-several-cars-on-new-years-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2019\/01\/02\/teenager-killed-after-being-hit-by-several-cars-on-new-years-day\/","title":{"rendered":"TEENAGER KILLED AFTER BEING HIT BY SEVERAL CARS ON NEW YEARS DAY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">19-year-old Demetrice Gillespie was hit by multiple vehicles on New Years Day while walking on North Tryon Street in Charlotte, NC, the impacts killed Demetrice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"579\" src=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/image-1024x579.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18136\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/image-1024x579.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/image-300x170.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/image-768x435.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/image.jpeg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Demetrice Gillespie and Christian Chandler<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christian Chandler, 22, was arrested, charged with hitting Demetrice and fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On January 1, 2019 at approximately 1:12 a.m., Demetrice was walking on North Tryon Street when he was struck by a black 2013-2018 Nissan Altima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After being struck, Demetrice was thrown approximately 50 feet into the right hand lane of travel before coming to a resting position. A short time later, a 2007 Honda CRV struck Demetrice causing him to be thrown an additional 60 feet. Once Demetrice came to another resting position, he was struck again by a 2011 Hyundai Sonota and was dragged approximately 1000 feet underneath the Hyundai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hyundai stopped in a parking lot with Demetrice underneath. Both operators remained on scene.
