But when a SWAT team came to take him in, it was obvious that Luis wasn&#8217;t going to jail without a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On May 23, 2019 in Charlotte, NC special detectives attempted to serve arrest warrants on Luis at a residence located on North Wind Place.&nbsp;Luis had outstanding warrants for his arrest for multiple charges including Kidnapping, Strangulation, and Assault on a Female, regarding a Domestic Violence Assault that took place on May 21, 2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities attempted to make contact with Luis but were unsuccessful.&nbsp;Members of the SWAT Team and Negotiators were activated and responded to the scene, set up a perimeter and continued to attempt to make contact with Luis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a precaution, officers relocated nearby residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SWAT breached the residence, but Luis climbed up a chimney and hid in walls for 9 hours, avoiding the SWAT team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a nine hour standoff with SWAT and not speaking with Negotiators, Luis was taken into custody without further incident.
