{"id":13841,"date":"2019-08-30T06:49:30","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T06:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02819f39900a2458"},"modified":"2025-03-03T06:59:13","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T06:59:13","slug":"man-killed-after-allegedly-stepping-into-path-of-oncoming-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2019\/08\/30\/man-killed-after-allegedly-stepping-into-path-of-oncoming-vehicle\/","title":{"rendered":"MAN KILLED AFTER ALLEGEDLY STEPPING INTO PATH OF ONCOMING VEHICLE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">50-year-old Brian Cathey was killed on August 29th, 2019 around 11 at night in Charlotte, NC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A vehicle crash occurred on The Plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Subaru Impreza was traveling on The Plaza in the right-hand lane when pedestrian Brain Cathey allegedly stepped from the curb into the path of the Subaru. <a href=\"https:\/\/charlottealertsnews.com\/charlottealerts\/news\/man-killed-on-the-plaza-in-east-charlotte\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brian was struck by the vehicle.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the Subaru immediately stopped the vehicle and called 911, while remaining at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brian was found laying on the curb with his legs in the roadway. Brain was transported to Atrium Health\u2019s Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Subaru driver was screened for impairment, as there were no signs of impairment detected.
