Investigators said when Officer Cousette arrived at the house, the suspect ran inside. Officer Cousette followed and shots were exchanged inside the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officer Cousette was taken to the hospital where he later died. The suspect was also wounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox said Officer Cousette was a 13 year veteran of the police force.
