At a immigration checkpoint in Salton City, California two men were arrested after being suspected of smuggling 24 illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m. on February 21, 2021 when two men driving two separate trucks approached a immigration checkpoint. The first man was driving a blue Ford F-350 truck hauling a white hauler trailer. The second driver was driving a white Ford F-250 truck that was also hauling a white hauler trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Border Patrol agents were conducting their investigation on the drivers during primary inspection, a Border Patrol canine detection team alerted to both of the trailers. Both drivers were referred to secondary for further inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During secondary inspection, Border Patrol agents inspected the trailers and discovered 24 illegal immigrants concealed inside. Agents safely removed all the suspects and conducted welfare checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, one of the drivers admitted to having cocaine for personal use and a handgun legally registered to his name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both drivers were United States citizens. The 24 illegal immigrants included 22 adult men and 2 adult women. They all were placed under arrest. The vehicles, trailers, handgun, and cocaine were seized.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
