{"id":10181,"date":"2021-05-27T22:43:55","date_gmt":"2021-05-27T22:43:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci02842db6e0002467"},"modified":"2021-05-27T22:43:55","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T22:43:55","slug":"police-officer-shoots-armed-robbery-suspect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2021\/05\/27\/police-officer-shoots-armed-robbery-suspect\/","title":{"rendered":"POLICE OFFICER SHOOTS ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is conducting a CMPD officer-involved shooting investigation that happened on Old Interstate Road Charlotte, NC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, May 27, 2021 in the afternoon officers were at a motel attempting to speak with a suspect matching the description in a recent shooting and armed robbery.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The suspect fled on foot and shot a firearm at officers.  The officers perceived a lethal threat and one officer fired a service weapon, striking the suspect.  Medic transported the suspect to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;suspect&#8217;s&nbsp;firearm was recovered at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>No officers were injured in this incident.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The SBI will be the primary investigative agency for this investigation.
