{"id":10033,"date":"2021-06-25T04:46:16","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T04:46:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ci0286817fe0002483"},"modified":"2025-02-26T04:49:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T04:49:04","slug":"man-distributes-child-pornography-on-discord-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tender-hodgkin.62-151-180-206.plesk.page\/index.php\/2021\/06\/25\/man-distributes-child-pornography-on-discord-app\/","title":{"rendered":"MAN DISTRIBUTES CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ON DISCORD APP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mayuresh Iyer, 26, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on June 24, 2021 for distributing child pornography on the popular messaging platform Discord in Matthews, NC.&nbsp;Mayuresh must now register as a sex offender after he is released from prison.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.charlottealertsnews.com\/.image\/c_fit,h_600,w_600\/MTgxOTc1MjczNTE4OTMzMTIz\/0c-11942185_880208762047529_5491171345087556718_o.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p>In October 2019, law enforcement received information that an individual later identified as&nbsp;Mayuresh&nbsp;was using his Discord user account to distribute child pornography.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Discord is a popular free application that allows users to communicate with each other via voice, video calls, and text messaging; in addition to sharing media files through private chats or communities referred to as \u201cservers.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement executed a search warrant at&nbsp;Mayuresh\u2019s residence in Matthews, NC and seized multiple electronic devices, including two external hard drives. A forensic analysis of those devices revealed that&nbsp;Mayuresh&nbsp;possessed an extensive collection of child pornography, including over 800 videos and approximately 14,147 images of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the child pornography in&nbsp;Mayuresh\u2019s possession depicted prepubescent minors being abused through sadistic, masochistic and other violent conduct.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In September 2020 Mayuresh&nbsp;pleaded guilty to distributing and attempting to distribute child pornography.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Mayuresh&#8217;s 14 year prison sentence, he was also ordered to pay a $35,000 special assessment, serve 25 years of supervised release, and pay restitution to the victims of his offense.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Suspect had 800 videos and 14,147 images of child pornography.
