$13 million in cocaine was found on a 18-wheeler truck on Interstate 70 in Hendricks County, Indiana. The large drug bust was on November 30, 2022. There was a total of 130 kilograms of packaged cocaine in the truck. 50-year-old Mauro Alonzo-Vargas was driving the truck with the cocaine in it.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives received reliable information pertaining to a shipment of narcotics that would pass through Marion County.
Detectives used several investigative techniques and located the drug truck semi-tractor trailer on Interstate 70 at a rest area.
Cops approached the truck and detained the driver Mauro. During the investigation detectives used an narcotics K-9 to do a open air sniff of the 18-wheeler truck.
The dog made a positive indication of narcotics odor on the semi-tractor and trailer in question. A search warrant was granted for the semi-tractor and trailer.
Detectives searched the truck and located approximately 130 kilos of cocaine hidden in the ceiling of the truck. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $13 million dollars.
Mauro was arrested and sent to the Hendricks County Jail. The Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
